In this course, students learn the basic skills for dressmaking, including a brief history of the industry, fashion illustration, design tools, fabric sourcing, design, and construction. By the end of class, students will complete a basic knit trapeze dress. A supply list will be provided to students one week before the first class. Supplies, including the dress pattern, can be purchased directly from the instructor for $10. An optional textbook will also be available for purchase in class for $30.
